3:00-4:30 PM
Dementia Friends is a global movement that is changing the way people think, act, and talk about dementia. Developed by the Alzheimer’s Society in the United Kingdom, the Dementia Friends movement is now spreading through Connecticut. By helping everyone in a community understand what dementia is and how it affects people, each of us can make a difference for people touched by dementia.
You are invited to FIRST become a Dementia Friend and then a Dementia Champion!
To become a Dementia Friend, you join others in a free 90-minute information session to learn five key messages and a bit about what it’s like to live with dementia. As a Dementia Friend, your new understanding and attitudes will guide the practical actions you can take to help someone with dementia living in your community. By helping everyone in a community understand what dementia is and how it affects people, each of us can make a difference for people touched by dementia.
