Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Connecticut 2026
This fall, LiveWell will be at every Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Connecticut. Come see us. We will share research on how to protect your brain, the habits that matter most, and help you learn about your own risk.
You Can Prevent Dementia
For years, people heard that nothing could be done about Alzheimer’s. New research shows that is not true.
Visit our booth and you can expect three things.
Bring your questions. We will give you a clear, simple idea of your own risk, without needing a doctor’s visit or a long survey.
Get inspired. Learn what research supports in four key areas for brain health: nutrition, sleep, cognitive training, and fitness. Small changes in each area can make a big difference over time.
Leave with a clear next step. If you want to learn more, you can sign up right there for a deeper brain health risk assessment with our team.
What Actually Moves the Needle
NUTRITION
What you eat affects blood flow, inflammation, and the health of your brain’s blood vessels. We will show you which eating patterns have the most evidence behind them, and how you can start with just one meal instead of changing everything at once.
SLEEP
During sleep, your brain clears out waste proteins linked to Alzheimer’s. Getting regular, good sleep is one of the best ways to protect your brain, but it is often overlooked.
COGNITIVE TRAINING
Your brain grows stronger when you use it in new ways. Doing structured mental activities builds up your brain’s reserve, which can help you keep your abilities longer if changes happen.
FITNESS
Physical activity has more research supporting it than any other brain health habit. You do not need a gym—just regular movement.
SOCIALIZATION
Regular connection with other people, like what will be found at the walks and at LiveWell’s Resilient Living Center.
